About

What is App?

App gives you one new English word every day: a clear definition, an example sentence, and pronunciation by a native speaker, right on your Home Screen. Most days, that's the whole routine. When one word a day stops being enough, there's a full dictionary to browse and a few ways to test yourself on what you've saved.

Daily word

A new word arrives each day. You get a definition that actually explains it, a sentence showing how it's used, and native pronunciation with a choice of voice. Since today's word sits on your Home Screen and Lock Screen widget, learning it is something that happens while you check the time.

Dictionary

Today's word is just the front door. Behind it is a dictionary organized by category and theme, and you can pull anything from it into your own list to learn at whatever pace suits you.

Save & review

Bookmark a word and it joins a deck you can swipe through whenever you have a spare minute. Waiting for coffee counts.

Quizzes & games

Multiple-choice quizzes check whether a definition actually stuck. The swipe game is quicker and more honest: true or false, this word means that, and within a round it has separated the words you know from the ones you only think you know. You can play with today's word, a category, or your saved list.

Streaks & achievements

The app counts your consecutive days of learning and hands out achievements along the way. Your stats keep track of the current streak, the longest one, and how many days you've been active.

Reminders & widget

Turn on the optional notification and today's word finds you, not the other way around. The widget keeps itself up to date.

Private by design

No account, no sign-up. Your saved words, stats, and progress live on your device and nowhere else.

A minute a day sounds like nothing. Keep the streak going for a few months, though, and you start noticing the words turning up in things you read. That's the whole point of App.
